Historically significant and interesting site. Went to the visitor's center and listened to a quick overview of the site. Museum was very interesting, and well laid out, staff was very receptive to questions. Some may find the site boring. But I think it's quite impressive, and the solitude of this area is also quite amazing.
Stupit experience thanks guys
Small quiet museum. Very interesting
Although we love historical sites like this one we are writing this warning as a precaution to others! Today we lost our beloved dog Molly due to a prairie rattlesnake bite she sustained yesterday. It was a horrible and painful experience for her and us. BEWARE this time of year is very dangerous as the snakes are extremely active right now. We were ON the brick trail near the restrooms on top of the butte when we encountered the snake. We want to warn others to take precautions like protection boots, etc. when walking this tour especial to the top of the buttes. I would definitely NOT take little children to this walking site. Of course we wish we would have visited the park during a safer time.
Incredible, historical, profound experience. A beautiful teaching for me, feeling somewhat of an interloper, to get a sense of the Native way. Walk the trail - a nice trek - made my imagination fly. I am confident, you won't be disappointed should you visit this state park.
